Obituary of Sharon Lone
Sharon Jean Lone, 66, of Minneapolis passed away peacefully on December 6, 2012.
She was born on March 1, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN; the fourth and youngest child of Oather and Florence (Johnson) Watson. Sharon grew up in many different cities within the Minneapolis metro area finally settling in Minneapolis, MN.
In 1963, Sharon married Ronald Byrne and they lived in San Jose, CA for a few years where her twins, Laurie and Lisa, were born in 1965. Sharon moved back to Minneapolis where Melody was born in 1967. In 1977, her youngest daughter Jenny was born; completing her collection of daughters.
In 1986, Sharon married her childhood family friend, Richard Lone, and she finally got herself a son, Tommy. They had many wonderful years together and would have celebrated their silver wedding anniversary on December 13, 2012.
Sharon had many different jobs throughout her life time, but especially enjoyed her last job assisting and caring for the elderly at Presbyterian Homes in Bloomington - John and Mae being the last two she "adopted" and cared for until their deaths within the last couple of years. Her passion for helping the elderly was sparked during the many years she helped care for her mother who had a similar brain aneurysm, also occurring in her mid-fifties.
In 2000, Sharon had an aneurysm "leak" that almost took her life, but she amazed the physicians by not only surviving the trauma to her brain, but also by retaining her physical and most of her mental abilities. One of the best changes that occurred was that she became very social and wanted to experience life to the fullest - she knew she had been given a gift and didn't want to waste the extra time she had been granted. She wrote a cook book, started her own cleaning business, volunteered in various nursing homes, loved to listen to live music, adopted an elephant and even danced in public! Other activities she continued to enjoy were reading, working on the daily cross word puzzle in the paper, her annual trip to Turtle Lake casino for her birthday, camping and fishing up at the corn palace in Alexandria, crocheting afghan's and watching the Twins play ball.
Some could say she got to complete her "bucket list" long before it became popular a few years back, thus she had no regrets or things she needed to wrap up at the end of her life - she had done what she wanted, when she wanted and shared her opinions with abandon and lots of laughs.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Oather and Florence Watson; sister, Carlene; sister-in-law, Nancy; grandchildren, Cherish and DJ; great grandchild, Zechariah. She is survived by her husband, Richard; her children, Laurie (Mark), Lisa (Jon), Melody (CC), Tom (Tracey), and Jenny (Ryan); her grandchildren, Danielle (Matt), Tabatha (Matt), Cassaundra, Katrina, Samantha (Jeremy), Jason, Gilah, Sarah (Eric), Adam, Jason, Michael, Shelly, Alan, Mason, Ellissa, and Alexander; her great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Zachary, Cameron, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Natalie, Nathan, Jordan, unborn baby (due May 2013), Kiley, and Liam; her brothers, Ray and Ronald (Carol); and many other relatives and friends.
