Obituary of Phillip Dunbar
Phillip A. Dunbar, 78, of Cambridge passed away unexpectedly on December 10, 2012 at the Cambridge Medical Center.
He was born April 17, 1934 in Cambridge, MN to Gilbert and Dorothy (Stroberg) Dunbar. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1952.
On August 13, 1954, he married Mary Sundberg and together they had three children. They lived in Minnesota, Iowa, and Maryland and moved back to Cambridge in 1968.
Phil was a hard-working man who owned and operated several businesses. He enjoyed golfing, having coffee with friends, watching his grandchildren perform or play sports, and supporting his community. He and Mary got away from the Minnesota cold every year and spent time in Texas, Hawaii, California, and Mexico. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed it when everyone could get together at the lake.
Phil is survived by his wife, Mary Dunbar of Cambridge; daughter, Keri (Tom) Sahlmen of Cambridge; son, Jon (Deanna) Dunbar of Cambridge; daughter-in-law, Nancy Dunbar of Cambridge; seven grandchildren, Alyssa (Scott), Britne (Zach and son Nate), Mitch, Aaron, Joe, Pete, and Evan; brother, Jack (Della) Dunbar of Princeton, MN; sister, Janice (Dean) Goebel of North Branch, MN; aunt, Eunice Hupfer; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Paul Dunbar; sister, Judie Krovosa; and parents, Gil and Dorothy..
