Obituary of Lucille Jonsson

Lucille T. Jonsson, 89, is "absent from the body and present with the Lord. " She died peacefully at GracePointe Crossing Gables West on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. Lucille, who always went by Lucy, was born in Rochester, NY on January 23, 1923, to Robert and Jenny (VanDerWall) Till. Lucy married Richard Jonsson after meeting him at church. During WWII Lucy worked at Kodak making aircraft radios, later at Stromberg Carlson Company and Joss Brothers in their accounting departments. After leaving Rochester, Lucy and Richard lived in Poughkeepsie, NY, Southampton, England, Owego, NY, Bombay, India and Catharpin, VA. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved to study the Bible and had a special gift of ministry and friendship with women. She was especially blessed by her involvement in a neighborhood Bible study in Catharpin, VA for over 30 years. Her many, many friends continued to bless her even after she moved to MN in 2006. When she wasn't with her friends she loved oil painting and reading and decorating. Lucille is survived by her son Robert (Nancy) Jonsson of Cambridge, and daughter in law Dixie Jonsson of Burke, Virginia; six grandchildren Joshua ( Amy) Jonsson (MN), Lt. Col. Benjamin (Heather) Jonsson (VA), Abigail ( Adam ) Fennig (FL) Hunter ( Kayt ) Jonsson (VA ), Ursula Jonsson (MI), and Tristan Jonsson (VA) and eleven great grandchildren. Lucille was predeceased in death by her son Roger Jonsson and brothers Raymond Till and Arnold Till.
