Obituary of Robert Curtis Peck
Robert C. Peck, 74, of Harris passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.
He was born November 11, 1942 in Tracy, Minnesota to Edward and Margaret (Klein) Peck. He attended grade school in Tracy and graduated from Springfield High School in 1961. Bob went on to join the U.S. Air Force in October 1961 and was honorably discharged in October 1965. While serving in the military, he met Linda Keyes and they were married on June 14, 1964 in Springfield, MN. They lived in Oregon for a year until Bob’s discharge. Bob and Linda moved to Minneapolis and Bob began working and later co-owned Suburban Tent & Awning and worked there until 1996. The family moved to their home in rural Harris in 1976 and raised their three boys. Bob would start his own business Bob’s Custom Canvas and ran that until 2006 when sons Doug and Nick bought it and DNP Custom Canvas was born.
Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman and recently shot a 400-pound bear. He enjoyed gardening and sold his vegetables to many people over the years. He was known to have the best sweet corn around. He also had his own apple orchard and sold apples. Bob was also a member of the NRA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Dennis. Bob is survived by his wife Linda, sons Douglas Peck of Lino Lakes, Nicholas and wife Nancy Peck of Cambridge, Robert Lee Peck of Garrison, seven grandchildren Adam, Ashley, Nicole, Bradley Peck, Robert Lee Peck Jr., Sheena and Brailyn Peck; four great grandchildren Mathew, Elizabeth and Katherine Gregg, and Zoey Peck, sister Betty Roiger of Hutchinson, brother Darrold and wife Berneida Peck of Springfield, MN, as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 2-5PM, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home in Cambridge.
