Obituary of Edna Muriel Ostrom

Edna Muriel (nee Olson) Ostrom, age 92, of East Cambridge, MN passed away peacefully on her birthday, October 28, 2017, at the Estates in Rush City, MN, surrounded by her loving family.

Edna was born in Springvale Township, MN to parents Edward C. Olson & Sophie Jacobson on October 28, 1925.  Later, Edward married Mary Doland, who cared for Edna as if she were her mother.  Edna met and married Carl A. Ostrom on July 11, 1943 at the Cambridge Lutheran Church.  Together they raised a family of three boys.  They bought a farm and later turned it into the family business, Ostrom’s Used Auto Parts.

Edna was a Nursing Assistant, farmer’s wife and the family business bookkeeper.  She was the wife of a Navy Veteran.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, loved to travel and took many beautiful pictures.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl A. Ostrom   in 1985; sister Eunice Schroeder and many other loved ones.

Edna is survived by her three sons Jerry Ostrom of Corpus Christi,TX, Rick Ostrom and Wayne Ostrom both of Cambridge, MN; grandchildren Kresta Ostrom, Kami (Todd) Peterson of Zimmermen, MN and Lars (Harvest) Ostrom of Hudson, WI; great-grandchildren Cassie and  Jasper Peterson and Emma Ostrom; sisters Shirley Thompson of Cambridge, MN, Lynda (Larry) Caughey of Washington, Beverly Sundquist of Oregon, Helen (Harley) Carter of Washington; and brother Jim Olson of Cambridge, MN.

The family of Edna M. Ostrom extends their gratitude to all that have gathered to celebrate the life and memory of Edna.

Friends may gather from 3-6 PM Wednesday, Nov 1, 2017 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home 311 S. Ashland St. Cambridge.                763-689-2244.  Sharing time will be at 5 PM.
