Obituary of Mary Lois Pearson
Mary Lois (Barker) Pearson, age 77, of Stanchfield, MN passed away unexpectedly on June 9, 2018 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
Mary was born December 10, 1940 in Cambridge, MN to Henry and Inez (Anderson) Barker. Mary was active and well-loved throughout school, graduating from Cambridge High School in 1958. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald Pearson, on February 14, 1959 at Cambridge Lutheran Church. She and Don settled on the farm in Stanchfield, MN in 1966 where they raised five children. She made many memories while camping, snowmobiling, boating, and spending time at family cabins in Alexandria, Bone Lake, Lake Fannie, Big Sandy, and Gull Lake, WI. She enjoyed traveling, going out to eat, visiting with family and friends, and attending many concerts, especially her children’s and grandchildren’s band/choir concerts. Her children and grandchildren were the most important part of her life.
Mary also enjoyed crossword puzzles, books, and watching gameshows. Her family and friends looked to her to remember details. If people needed to know anything, they called Mary. She cherished the numerous friends she had and was active in Birthday Club, Homemaker’s Club, Bowling and Golf Leagues, and Bible Study.
Mary is survived by her husband, Don; children Christine Thiry, John (Emily) Pearson, Carrie (Rick) Christenson, Amy (Christopher) Slade, and Margaret (Justin) Nelson; grandchildren, Sarah (Matt) Solberg, Nick (fiancé Tara Zimmerman) Christenson, Peter Christenson, Hannah Thiry, and Henry Pearson; siblings, Carol (Shar) Feldheim, Steve (Ann O’Bryan) Barker, and Bob (Cathy) Barker; sisters-in-law Della Pearson, Maxine (Paul) Smith, Delores Becklin, Darlene Pearson, Sandy Prosen, and Saeko Barker; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Inez Barker; brother, Henry Barker; brothers-in-law, Gerald Pearson, Bob Pearson, and Phil Becklin.
Funeral Service 11AM, Monday, June 18, 2018 at Cambridge Lutheran Church. - Visitation will be from 4-7 PM, Sunday AT CAMBRIDGE LUTHERAN CHURCH (NOTE LOCATION CHANGE) and one hour prior to the service.
