Obituary of Bernice Kathryn Babb

Bernice Kathryn Babb, 83, of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at her home.

She was born on October 4, 1934 in Stanford Township, Minnesota, to Wesley and Anna (Hartfiel) Peters.  She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Crown, Minnesota. She attended Cambridge High School and graduated in 1952. Later, she was employed at a bank in Minneapolis.

She met Bion Babb at the Wyanett Township Hall at a dance.  Bion said, ‘She is the one I am going to marry’… and they did on August 31, 1953.  They first lived in St. Paul and after a year moved to Spencer Brook.  They lived with Bernice’s parents until they purchased their own home.  They had a family of 8 children. Bernice loved bingo, casinos, going out to eat and hunting and snowmobiling with the kids.  She and Bion were one of the original members of the Mystic Riders Snowmobile Club.  Bernice was always willing to go on a new adventure.

She was preceded in death by her parents Anna and Wesley; husband, Bion Babb; son Melvin Babb, brother Bruce (Nancy) Peters; sister Patty (Jim) Phillips; grandson Michael Babb Jr; granddaughter Heather Babb; daughter-in-law Bridget Babb and brothers-in-law Robert Sabin and Adolph Fiebing.

Bernice is survived by her children; Myron (Deborah) Babb of Oklahoma, Kathryn (Jim) LaPoint of Isanti, Michael Babb of Cambridge, Martin Babb of Dalbo, Karen (Ty Sr.) Kramer of Onamia, Kristine Ratcliffe of New York, Marvin Babb of Salem, Oregon; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; sisters Alice Fiebing of North Branch and Carol Sabin of Cambridge.

Funeral services 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church of Crown.  Interment was in the Isanti Union Cemetery., July 5, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church of Crown.  Interment  Isanti Union Cemetery.
