Obituary of Jeffrey Earl Peterson

Jeffrey E. Peterson, age 64 of Monticello, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on July 13, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his son Shawn; parents Maurice “Gus” and Marcella; brothers-in-law Craig Quist and Bobby Kirk; canine companions Molly, Bob and Chubbs; and Cody the cat.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife Christine of 42 years; children Dana (Eric) Lindquist, Katie (Mark) Christensen and Kari (Greg) Roof.  He is the proud grandfather of Cadence and Drew

Lindquist, Peyton and Landon Christensen, and Ella and Ryan Roof.  Jeff is also survived by his siblings Jackie (Jack) Richardson, Gail Quist, Linda Foster, Gregg (Linda) Peterson, and Gordy

Peterson; Aunt Colleen Jullie and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Jeff was a rural mail carrier in the Rogers area for more than      30 years. He also was the zamboni driver for the Elk River Ice Arena for more than 20 years. Jeff was actively involved with his children, coaching his girls in basketball and playing with them   in all sorts of fun activities until one of them was crying. Jeff and Chris loved to travel to warm destinations like Mexico, Jamaica, Hawaii, and camping with his family at Aunt Colleen’s cabin.  When not travelling you could find Jeff hard at work in his flower and vegetable garden and tending to his immaculate yard.

Jeff was a wonderful Husband, Father and Friend. His motto was “Play hard, Love hard and Work hard”.  His favorite saying was “You Know”.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday July 20, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 18380 Columbus St. Dayton, MN.

Visitation 4-7 PM Thursday at the church and 1 hour prior to Mass at church on Friday.

Interment at the parish cemetery following Mass.

Memorials preferred
