Obituary of Ralph Laurel Johnson
Ralph Laurel Johnson, 91, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Elim Home in Princeton.
He was born on August 25, 1926 in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Mabel (Hoffman) Johnson. He grew up in Maiden Rock and graduated from Maiden Rock High School. Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Navy in November 1944, served in World War II and was honorably discharged in July 1946.
He was united in marriage to Janet Holmes in Morganfield, Kentucky. They raised two children Ann and William. Ralph worked for 35 years at Minnegasco and retired as a district supervisor.
Ralph was a Master Mason with the Khurum Lodge #112 in Minneapolis. He enjoyed reading, calling and talking to family and friends, and watching The Andy Griffith Show on TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Ralph is survived by his wife Janet, daughter Ann and husband Ken Salo, son Bill and wife Elaine Johnson, grandchildren Jill Salo, Mike Dugan, Brandon, Nathan and Jared Johnson, great grandchildren Anna, Emmy, Teya, Tessa, Aiden, Taylor and Silas, special cousin who he called his little sister Maxine Bergstrom, as well as many other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Larson, hospice nurses Tracy and Louann, Pastor Matt Flom and Pastor Sue Olson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Long Lake Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Honorary bearers will be his five grandchildren. Military Honors by the Isanti VFW Color Guard. Scottish Rites by the Mason’s. Interment will take place in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Long Lake Lutheran Church.
