Obituary of Richard Allen Jorgensen Jr.
Jorgensen, Richard A. Jr. age 62 of Zimmerman, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2018 at J.A. Wedum Hospice in Brooklyn Park.
Preceded in death by his parents Richard Sr. and June; sister Julie Jorgensen.
Survived by his loving wife, of 45 years, Diane; sister Joanne (Todd) Hogan.
Also survived by many many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Richard started his career as a pipefitter on the road for Local 669. Five years later, he joined Local 417 as a journeyman. He worked his way up to superintendent for several companies. His final rung, was to help build a new fire protection company as a co-owner and superintendent in New Brighton. He retired in 2011.
Rick loved to travel with Diane in his motorhome throughout the United States. Every state was his favorite until the next one. But close to home and his heart was Temperance River State Park and Jay Cooke State Park on the North Shore. He was a real outdoorsman. He loved cutting trees on his property to heat our home and bonfires. His other passion was his yard. He made sure that is was like carpet.
Memorial service 11 AM Thursday Sept 6, 2018 at Rufuge- an Evangelical Free Church 25620 4th St. W. Zimmerman, MN.
Friends may gather 1 hour prior to service at the church to share their memories.
Interment Livonia Cemetery, Zimmerman.
