Obituary of Lois Marian Stahnke

Lois M. Stahnke (nee Pearson) age 81 of Braham passed away peacefully at GracePointe Commons in Cambridge on February 2, 2019.

Lois was born on April 14, 1937 to Jasper and Hulda Pearson.  Because of a family tragedy, Lois was raised by Gunner and Elizabeth Woodland in Cambridge.  She attended Cambridge High School and graduated in 1955.  Shortly after graduation, she married Tom Stahnke at Cambridge Lutheran Church. They made their home in the Cambridge area where they raised 9 children.  Lois loved the “art of the Sale”. Selling anything and everything.  She also loved spending time with children, bingo and canning.

Lois is survived by her loving husband of 63.5 years Tom; children Pam (Chuck) Brite, Cheryl (Mike) Noren, Debi Handt, Randy Stahnke, Jennifer Davis, and Ann Thatcher.  Lois was blessed with 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons are on the way.

She is also survived by her brothers Ollie (Pat) Pearson, Richard Woodland; sister Verna (Donald) Leaf and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents Jasper & Hulda Pearson and Gunner & Elizabeth Woodland; daughter Susan Stahnke; sons Scott  and Leslie Stahnke; great-grandchildren Zachary Weston and Jessie Burrell.

A private family service will be held this spring to celebrate Lois’s life.
