Obituary of James Edward Olson
James E. Olson, age 73, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully, on March 11, 2019.
Jim was born June 22, 1945 to Edward and Mary Olson. He attended Franklin Elementary School in Springvale Township until 8th grade and then 1 year at Cambridge High School. He left school early to start his career as a carpenter with various companies in the Cambridge area. He also dabbled in welding, selling AmsOil and lawn mowing.
Jim married Peggy Effertz in 1973. Together, they had 3 children; Christopher, Dara and Lisa and resided in Cambridge, MN.
Jim’s passions were riding his motorcycle “ Suzi” with his good friend Larry and socializing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Edna (Carl) Ostrom, Eunice (James) Schroeder and Lynda Caughey; granddaughter Alyana Hasbargen, and his ex-wife Peggy Fults (nee Effertz).
Jim is survived by his children Christopher (Valerie) Olson, Dara (Vinnie) Grashorn and Lisa (Mark) Showers. Beloved grandfather of: Lani (Tyler) Anderson, Hunter Keaton; Jaden, Justin, Emma, and Elizabeth Olson; Tryston, Austin, Brea, Tessa, and Gracie Hasbargen; Nadia Olson-Seegert; Ariel, Grady and Phoebe Showers.
Proud Great-Grandfather of Tyla, Paisley and Gabby Anderson.
Also survived by his sisters Beverly Sundquist , Shirley Thompson and Helen (Harley) Carter; brother-in-law Larry Caughey and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorial service 5 PM Saturday March 23, 2019 at Springvale Baptist Church 410 County Rd 6 NW Stanchfield,, MN
Friends may gather 1 hour prior to service at the church to extend their condolences.
Interment private at Springvale Baptist Cemetery.
