Obituary of Janice B. Swearingen
Janice “Jan” Swearingen of Cambridge went to be with her Lord at the age of 83. She was born April 7, 1936 to George and LuVerne Olson of Cambridge where she was raised and attended school.
She was baptized and confirmed at the Cambridge Lutheran Church. She married Don Swearingen of Paola, Kansas and after he joined the church, they remained members except for several years when they had moved away and regained their membership when coming back to Cambridge.
Jan is survived by her two children Mike (Debbie) Swearingen of Grand Rapids, MN and Becky (Joe) Semler of Isanti, MN. Grandmother of: Jeremiah (Lea) Semler of Dalbo, MN, Aaron (Stephanie) Swearingen of Crystal, MN, Ben (Heather) Semler of Merrifield, MN, Matt (Kari Jo) Semler of Princeton, MN, Jennie Semler (Ethan Snyder) of St. Paul, MN. Great-Grandmother of Grant, Abby, Cole, Addison, Elana, Carly, Dylan, Ethan, Olivia, Charlie, Josie, and Jameson
She is also survived by her sisters Mar Vipavetz of Kirkland, WA. Colleen (Vic) Achtelik of Isle, MN and Terri (Roy) Knutson of Bovey, MN as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Don and parents and brother-in-law Geroge Vipavetz
One of her favorite Bible passages was Psalm 103. She dearly loved and believed in God with all her heart and knew that Jesus came and died on the cross for us that we would have forgiveness of sins and everlasting life with him in eternity.
Memorial service 12 Noon Saturday May 18, 2019 at Cambridge Lutheran Church 621 Old North Main St. Cambridge.
Friends may gather 1 hour prior to service at the church on Saturday
