Obituary of Richard C. Bazey

Richard C. Bazey, age 78, of North Branch, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on August 27, 2019.

Richard was born on December 18, 1940 to Joseph and Mae Ann (nee Clark) Bazey in Argyle, MN.  Richard went to work early in his life.  He farmed, delivered milk and eventually became a welder/supervisor at KG Research, until his retirement. During his retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, traveling  and gardening.

Richard fell in love and married Jackie Hemler in 1961.  From that union, two children were born; Mike (Val) Bazey and Cheryl Hankins.  Grandchildren soon followed - Katie (Phil) West and Natasha Bazey (Michael McKenzie) and he was blessed with a great-grandson Henry West and a great-granddaughter Charlotte West who is arriving in October.

Later in Richard’s life, the love bug struck again and he married Beverly Adamek who afforded him the good fortune of step-sons; Matthew (Sue) Adamek and Shawn (Jutta) Adamek; step grandchildren Yasmin Adamek and Devin Adamek and a step-great-grandson Kalob Obert.  He also had a special Shih Tzu, Pugsley.

He was also survived by his sisters Shirley Lamere and Marie Bazey; brothers Leonard (Ingrid) Bazey, Earnie (Bobbi) Bazey and John (Marie) Bazey and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Johanna Peterson and Elaine Osterson and his brothers George and Joe Bazey.

Graveside service 1 PM Friday August 30 at  Athens Lutheran Cemetery, Isanti. 3 miles east of Hwy 65 on County Rd 9, southside.
