So very saddened to hear of Terry's passing. As with many others, I also came to know Terry back in the day at ROI Systems. I think the one thing he loved more than cars and milling machines was shopping - not necessarily to buy, but to get out there are explore the goods in every way possible and supply a running commentary.
He was sometimes a little startling with his directness - from day one he decided my nickname was going to be 'Fishbait', and that was that. So I called him 'Old Man' (like others did) and we became friends. Once you got to know him you relied on that directness both professionally and personally.
Terry was the kind of person you need in your life as a good and honest friend. Barbara and I extend our sincere condolences to his family - he will be missed.

It is with a very heavy heart that I offer my deepest sympathy to Terry’s family. Not only was he a great programmer, he was a great man. I am sure there are literally thousands of stories that could be shared about him by many people who needed something. I recall one in particular that certainly defines his character. I was asked for some information late in the day, so like I always did I called Terry and explained what I needed. Terry said that he wouldn’t get to it until the next week because he was leaving in an hour for a long weekend. When I hung up the phone I was asked if we could get the information, I said we would have it in less than an hour……Terry called me back in 35 minutes and had it done. He was truly a thinker, a doer and one of the nicest guys I have ever known.
Allie and family, thank you for sharing him with all of us. He will be missed greatly.

I would like to send my deepest condolences to Terry's family during this difficult time. I had the pleasure of meeting Terry a few years back working on several implementation based projects. Terry was a pleasure to work with and always made me laugh. He was truly one of a kind and our shared love for cars always resulted in amazing conversations regarding projects he had completed. My only regret is meeting Terry later in life and not having more time to share with such an amazing man. Terry you will be forever missed.

I was introduced to Terry back in the days of ROI Systems. He was a legend, capable of super-human-like abilities to break down the most complicated projects. Thinking back, I remember being somewhat intimidated the first time I actually met him, but he was SUCH a nice guy. It was a great privilege to have crossed paths and had the opportunity to have worked with him. My prayers for family and friends in a time of such loss.

What a wonderful person Terry was. Always ready to give up his time and talents for others. It was a great pleasure working with him for all these years.
Prior to a trip to Alaska, Terry said we should rebuild the engine in my conversion van. Many a weeknight was spent driving up to Isanti and rebuilding an engine from the bottom up. Terry's price for all this time and effort, a case of beer!
Terry was able to provide for the family and still do what he loved. When we saw him this summer, he was planning on what to add to his collection of classic cars. He never quit working on the cars he loved.
I will miss his smile and humor. He was something very special.

To the Peterson family and all that loved Terry, I am saddened by his death. We worked together at ROI and our cubes were close enough that family stories and escapades were shared. He was a fun loving guy but also a very hard and dedicated worker. My hope is that in the near future, stories of Terry can bring a smile to your heart and the ache doesn’t hurt quite as much. He will be missed.
I remember our first year owning a boat, he convinced me to store our boat at his place as “it was not that far”. We were rushed for finding storage that year and said sure! We decided he wasn’t as close as he said he was. I am sure he had a good chuckle on that.
Rest in Peace, Terry

Terry taught me so much about problem solving, work ethic and generally staying positive through opposition and hardship. We worked on several difficult problems in our working environment over the years and his dogged determination that any problem could and should be solved, often was the key to carrying the day and getting a tough issue completed. I owe much to Terry and what he showed me with his approach to life, work and having fun in those areas between the two. I will miss him greatly. I am so very sorry for your loss of a good and genuine person. -Trey Miller

Terry was a wonderful person who will be missed by everyone who knew him. My heart breaks for his lovely wife Allie. The last time I talked to Terry, he told me about what a saint his wife was and how much he appreciated her. To Allie and the rest of the family, I share a small part of your grief but will always remember Terry as a fun-loving, happy person. The world is a poorer place without him.
