Obituary of Abel K. Lood
Abel Kermit Lood, 96, of Cambridge Minnesota, passed away on Thursday January 14th, 2016 in Cambridge Minnesota.
Abel was born in Cambridge Minnesota to Abel and Emma Lood on March 25th, 1919. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Paulson on August 18th 1942 in Cambridge Minnesota and was later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. He worked as a plant supervisor for UPA, later known as Great River Energy for 35+ years. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Army. He was part of the conservation club in Cambridge and was an instructor for the firearms safety program for many years. He also served in many different capacities within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including Branch President, serving on the High Council, and Stake Facilities Representative. He enjoyed being an outdoorsman, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and collecting antique firearms. He spent many weeks at his cabin in Danbury, Wisconsin. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially time with his grandchildren. Abel was also a fan of movies throughout his whole life, especially westerns. He had a deep love and respect for all animals especially his beloved pets; Sandy, Skipper, Patches, Shane and Sadie
Abel was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth, his daughter Polly Lundgren, granddaughter Karen Frye, his daughter-in-law Betty Lood, and his son-in-law Jerry Kunza.
Abel is survived by his children Jerome Lood, Kathy Curtis (Frank), Linda Kunza, Barb Walbruch (Steven), 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great- grandchildren.
