Dear Pat and all the dear family members,
I was so saddened to hear of Howie's passing. I so much wished that he would be restored to good health but God had other plans. He has always been a dear cousin to me and I have clear memories of seeing Howie in his play pen in Vic and Ida's first home. He has always been a helpful wonderful cousin and a faithful Christian as well as a great husband and father. I will miss him very much and I know how much all of you will miss him. You are a great family and I wish I weren't so far away from all of you. May the
Lord bless and comfort all of you, especially you, Pat, as you were a great pair. I send my loving sympathy and prayers for all of you.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Howie. I got to know Howie in Florida. He repaired golf clubs for me. Both being from Minnesota we had many things in common. What a nice person. The world lost a good one but it will be heavens gain

I loved golfing with Grandpa Howie in Florida. One of my favorite memories is when I was ready to hit and all of a sudden started dancing around and took off my shoes and socks....I was on a red ant hill. I'll always remember his contagious laugh when he told that story.

Howie was a great guy to work for. (18 years) Howie also loved the birthday get-together at Camellia Rose. He was very appreciative when I came to visit him and always smiled. He was so proud of his family and all the accomplishments they have made in their lives.

Dear Family of "Howie"......
Diane and I used to look forward to seeing and talking to Howie at the 1st Tee at Purple Hawk Golf Course. He was always Friendly, Talkative, and so Very Happy. What a wonderful man.

God Received an Angel
My Father was an amazing man who loved his family, cherished my Mother and would help anyone who would ask him. My parents took care of approximately 150 foster children throughout their lives, had six of their own and I was the only foster child they agreed to keep. As a young child, I was taken away from my biological Mother due to neglect and placed in a foster home with a half-sister. At the age of 8, I went to live with the Erickson family and that was the day God blessed my life. Shortly before my Father died, he shared with me how sad I was as a little girl but soon after living with the Ericksons, I fit right in and was part of the family. I finally had what every child deserves in life - unconditional love, acceptance, security, and a family. My Father would tell me how much he loved me and that he was so proud to have me as his daughter. One night, I knocked on my parents door and my Father came out to talk to me. I asked him if I could be a part of the the Erickson family. My Father hugged me and said you are a part of our family and we love you so much I will talk it over with your Mother. The next day, my parents agreed that they would keep me. That day God blessed me with the greatest gift of all, a Father and Mother who loved me and accepted me as their own child and my siblings, Rhonda, Lori, Vickie, Kurt, Brenda and Brad who embraced me as their sister. I will forever be grateful to my parents for all that they have done for my life. I love you Dad and will miss your hugs and sweet smile.

I can barely write thru my tears. A true friend willing to give everyone a helping hand, always a big smile, dead pan face when he told one of his corny jokes & I would say "Oh Howie" & he would break out in a big laugh, loved when I would stop in for a visit & would say make sure you come back, talked about his family, showing me pictures & telling me who were graduating, getting married, having a baby, getting a promotion, his conversation always centered around his love for his family & hid devotion to Pat & God. When my mom died he & your mom came over immediately when he saw a van pull up at my home knowing something had happened. They joined me in prayer with hospice Chaplin. That was just Howie & your mom aware of other people's needs. Howie's house is dark now when I drive by but I still toot my horn because I love & miss you Howie. We don't grieve for Howie because we know he is a devout Christian & with our heavenly Father, we grieve for ourselves because we miss him & can't imagine our life without Howie. I hope he enjoys visits from my mom as much as he enjoyed mine. Love you always Howie, bye for now.
