Obituary of Howard V. Erickson

Howard “Howie” V. Erickson, age 86 of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Cambridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the University of Minnesota Hospital on December 11, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Ida Erickson, sister Anna Ruth Allman, nephew Steven Allman, business partner and best friend Donald Oakes. Howie is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Patricia “Pat”; children Rhonda (Paul) Pentz, Lori (Thomas) Dimitry, Vickie (Bruce) Thompson, Sheila (Randy) Zedjlik, Kurt (Michelle) Erickson, Brenda (Jeff) Lundeen and Bradley (Jennifer) Erickson. He was the proud Grandfather of 23 and Great-grandfather of 13. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Howie was part-owner of Tool Grinding Inc. of North Minneapolis. He was an active member of the Gideon’s as well as at Oxlip Evangelical Free Church in Isanti. He was a long-time member of the Purple Hawk Country Club and avid golf club maker. Howie was an Air Force Veteran and foster care parent for over 20 years, caring for more than 150 children. His “dry” sense of humor and big hugs will be missed by all who knew him.
