It was with sadness I read the notice of Loren's passing. My brother, Doug, and I spent several summers in the late 40's playing with Loren and Dennis in the ravine down past their house including swinging on vines and no doubt playing 'Tarzan' in a time when life was much simpler. Good memories!! Also have had a chance to say hello to Loren at numerous class reunions through the years. Condolences to the family.

Dad with Northern Pike on Rum River December 2012. The ice was barely thick enough to walk on, there was open water a few feet away. We caught four Northerns and two nice Walleyes that day.

I just heard the sad news. I want to thank you for taking me to the boundary waters back when I was a kid, some 40 years ago! I will never forget your morning whistling as you got a fire going or the way you could throw a canoe on your shoulders on those long portages!!! You were a very positive influence and a guy I will never forget. Rest in Peace Loren.
