Obituary of Loren L. Lindberg
Loren L. Lindberg of Cambridge, MN passed away at his home on “Woodpecker Ridge,” February 22, just three days short of his 78th birthday. He was born February 25, 1938 in Petaluma, CA to Willette (Findell) and Burton Lindberg. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1956. Loren worked two summers in Idaho for the U.S. Forestry and one summer for the MN DNR Forestry at Big Falls, MN. Loren worked various construction jobs and three winters in the woods as a lumberjack at Big Falls, MN. He then moved back to Cambridge and worked as a service tech for 38 years and retired from Minnegasco in 2000.
Loren was married and a son, Clifford, was born in 1963. Loren married Marilyn Mitchell Brown in 2008. They enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing together.
Loren had a love for the outdoors and was active hunting, fishing, and trapping for his entire life. He supported the outdoors by being a member of several clubs and organizations including: Isanti County Sportsman’s Club (founding member), Cambridge Bowman Club (founding member), National Wild Turkey Federation, as well as several others. Loren was also involved in firearms safety training being an instructor for over 40 years. If there was an opportunity to go out and enjoy the outdoors, you could count on Loren being interested and wanting to experience it. Loren mentored many youths as well as adults in the ethics and techniques of hunting and fishing. Loren was a member of Karmel Covenant Church.
After a courageous 23-year battle with cancer, enduring almost 6 years of chemo and radiation at Mayo Clinic, he always said each time he had health issues it was just another “Bump in the Road.” He was determined to keep living a great life with a positive attitude, strong ethic, and willingness to fight to the end. Loren had an impact on the people in his life, both personally and professionally. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
Loren is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; son, Cliff (Michele) of SW Ohio; Joni (Bob) of Iowa City, IA; Kelli (Rory) of Cambridge, MN; grandchildren, Erik, Kiley, Kristen, Anna, and Cale.
