I'm so sorry to hear of Sheila's passing. I enjoyed her playing for many years at First Baptist Church, Mpls. She also played at my wedding. She was a special lady with a beautiful gift.

What a shock to hear this news. My thoughts and prayers are with the Wicklund and Ledin families. All those songs and countless hours we all sang together from Cherub Choir, though Faith Haven and the summer tours is the Midwest going from church to church. You were a gift from God! A humble messenger of the Gospel speaking using your precious gift of music.
The following is one of my favorite songs and it seem express my thoughts very clearly.
Precious Lord, take my hand,
bring me home through the night,
through the dark, through the storm, to thy light.
I have been to the mount,
I have seen the Promised Land
Precious Lord, precious Lord, take my hand.
Precious Lord, take my hand
bring thy child home at last,
where the strife and the pain all are past.
I have dreamed a great dream
that love shall rule our land
Precious Lord, precious Lord, take my hand.
Precious Lord, take my hand,
take thy child unto Thee,
with the dream of a world that is free.
For that day when all flesh
joins the glory thou hast planned,
Precious Lord, precious Lord, take my hand.
If you would like to hear a rendition of this song you can link to http://www.bemidjialumnichoir.com/the-road-home/ and it is the third song from the bottom.

Dear Sheila,
I am going to miss you so much, my friend! The laughter and fun adventures we've shared over the years have been the best. From our days at Bethel, living at Polynesian Village with Vicki and Kathy to wonderful times of worship and music together. I always appreciated your wonderful sense of humor and gracious , sweet personality. What a friend. You will be missed so much!
Dennis, you accompanied us on many of those escapades! We had such a wonderful time together. Please know that I will be praying for you as you walk through the days ahead. Your love for Sheila was very evident to all. May the Lord sustain you with His love and grace, and overwhelm you daily with His comfort and peace. You are very loved.

We were devastated to hear of Sheila's sudden passing. She was surely a queen at the organ, and a gentle and precious person in every contact we ever had. We will be praying for you, Dennis, as you move slowly forward in the grace of God; knowing that she is with Him.

We send our Prayers to Sheila's husband and family.
We are so sadden to lose another
Pulmonary Hypertension patient and a member of our PH support group plus she was a friend and her husband that we all cared about.
Her sister Paula and Jeff Swanson have been members for many years and we consider them family. We feel their pain and some how we hope to help them ease the pain a little. It is very hard at this time of year, I lose both my parents at Christmas time. But I hold on to the fact that it is a Blessed time.

Dennis-Sheila was much more than just another pianist /organist on the worship team at North Heights. I count it an honor to have played with her -tasteful, great rhythm, could move from style to style and ALWAYS encouraged and supported the rest of the team. My last years at AH very trying for me 2009-2012, Sheila was always encouraging and giving me and the rest of the team the spotlight when really it was Sheila who had the training, ability, to make whatever we did=sound good!
I know the loss is hard Joy&I pray that God give comfort and grace during the days/weeks/months ahead.
This is not goodbye to Sheila but see you later as we wait for the heavenly band to strike up...If you could see me now..I think we will be anxious to join her when God says come...peace

It was both a joy and an honor to work with you both. I'm pretty sure Sheila's already accompanying the Heavenly Choir!

My dear Sheila, I met you in October 1969 when you came into the church office at Redeemer Lutheran Church. I was wearing black-rimmed glasses at the time, and later, as we got to know one another, you told me that you thought I looked strange. Smart girl! But as I got to know you, I saw what an amazing young lady you were. You always had a smile for me, you readily helped to stuff church bulletins when I needed help, and most of all, your talent was beyond amazing. I remember you coming up to church on Saturday afternoons and play the church piano. You didn't always know it, but many times I would sit in the back and just listened. It would warm my heart. When you asked me to be a part of "Letters of the Spirit", I was amazed. It was a privilege to share the love of Jesus with girls who were so talented! And then there was my 70th birthday party that you and the other "Letters" put on. You worked so hard to organize it, and it was wonderful! And now, you are in heaven with Jesus....playing the organ and piano for Him in the company of angels! Our loss here is definitely heaven's gain! Play on, dear
Sheila, play on! You are one in a million! I love you, and I will never forget you.

Dear Sheila! We have been friends since we were just kids growing up in Fridley. We use to go sliding down your huge hill...which seemed so big to us back then. When we formed the Banana Splits "rock band" we were probably 11 or 12 I still have the picture of our short lived rehearsals. Debbie Holquist sang, Kristen Larson played trumpet, Sherli Swanson Wafer played the tambourine, we didn't yet have a electric piano so you just hung out and I had my electric Gibson. Those were such fun days. There are so many things I am grateful for and the biggest one was when you called me in 1974. You said you hadn't seen me for awhile. What you didn't know at the time was that I had walked away from the Lord. Sheila, your call is what brought me back on the road to Christ. You asked me to play guitar in a ladies group of 7 women at the time. There is so much that I could say about the blessing this group of women was. It gave me stability as I learned about Jesus on a personal level plus I learned how to sing....sort of. It was a blessing when I got to be with you on the worship team at North Heights....it was your prompting to audition otherwise I never would have done it. You are such a humble, talented, gentle, strong, energetic friend and I am blessed to have shared your life for over 50 years. I miss you but will see you again....get the heavenly band warmed up! Love you and miss you! Sheri

Dearest Sheila. Precious friend. Your piano and organ playing raised us up to new heights. Faith Haven retreats, Messengers, Cross Carriers, Letters of the Spirit. You taught me to play the guitar and accompanied me at countless weddings, special occasions and funerals. You believed in me when I didn't believe in myself, always encouraging. You were always the wind beneath my wings. Your laughter, your smile---I will miss you deeply until we meet again in Heaven. How I look forward to that day when I can hear your beautiful music again....where all our tears will be wiped away. Deepest sympathies to you Dennis, Donna, family and the many, many who cherished our dear Sheila. Dennis, there was never a more devoted and loving husband than you--what a team! Love, tears and prayers.
