Obituary of Merle W. Dahlstrom

Merle W. Dahlstrom, age 78 of Cambridge, formerly of Crookston, Minnesota and Rush City, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 10, 2017. Merle worked for 43 years as a signal maintenance/ inspector with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in Grand Forks North Dakota. He was a US Army Veteran and served as a Reserve Crookston Police officer for many years. Merle loved the outdoors and passed it on as a Boy Scout Master to many scouts. He was preceded in death by his parents Walfred and Lillian Dahlstrom. Merle is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Phyllis; children Michelle (Paul) Bilotta and Mike (Betsy) Dahlstrom; grandchildren Courtney Baeyen, Samantha and Gabrielle Bilotta; Lauren, Laney and Will Dahlstrom; brother Duane (Connie) Dahlstrom; sister LaDez (Glenn) Mell; nieces Erin (Gary) Luke, Anita (Bob) Janssen; nephews John Dahlstrom, Craig (Amy) Mell and other relatives and friends. Memorial service will take place at 11:00AM on Tuesday, April 18th,, 2017 at Cambridge Lutheran Church 621 Old N, Main St. Cambridge, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be at First Lutheran Cemetery in Rush City.
