Obituary of Lawrence "Larry" A. Rydeen

   Lawrence (Larry) Alfred Rydeen went home to be with God on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the age of 75. 

   He was born May 14, 1941 at North Branch, Minnesota to Alfred Lawrence and Elaine Beatrice Rydeen.  He attended school and graduated from North Branch high school in 1959. 

   Larry became aware of Shirley while setting pins for her at his hometown bowling alley. They met on a blind date and later were married on March 12, 1960 at South Isanti Baptist Church.  They moved to Minneapolis when Larry Barbered at the Radisson Hotel for five years.

    From 1966 to 1970, Larry served in the Navy. He was stationed in San Diego, California. In 1969, while in the Navy, Larry served for one year in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1970.  After his discharge, he and Shirley moved to San Diego to live.  Larry was employed by General Motors from 1970 to 1978.  He also worked in real estate management and development from 1978 until he retired in 1999.  Larry loved many sports such as water skiing, tennis, golf and traveling the U.S.

   Larry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley; sisters-in-law Mary Rydeen and Lorna Christenson (and brother Loren; several nieces a nephew, and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by is parents Alfred and Elaine Rydeen and his brother Terry Rydeen.
