Obituary of Evelyn D. Olene

Evelyn Doris Olene, 87, of Braham, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at her home at Elmhurst Commons. 

She was born on June 8, 1930 in Spencer Brook Township, MN to Theodore and Katherine (Armbrust) Halling.  She attended Spencer Brook, Wyanett and Oxlip Country Schools.  Evelyn then moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a Machine Operator for Coombs, and later Bemis, for 16-1/2 years.

On May 16, 1959, Evelyn married Jasper Olene in Champlin, Minnesota and they lived in Champlin for most of their married life.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers and collecting antiques.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jasper; sisters: Marie (Arnold) Englund and Sigrid (Harry) Christofferson.  She is survived by sister: Laura O’Brien of Cambridge; nieces and nephews: Linda Forschen of Cambridge, Bobby (Nancy) Englund of Grasston, Cindy (John) Shockman of Braham, and Jerry (LeeAnn) Englund of Wahkon; great nieces and nephews: Jason (Kassandra) Shockman, Dana (Dan Magness) Shockman and Maria (Ryan) Kilmon.
