Obituary of Gail A. Almy-Collis

Gail A. Almy-Collis, 63, of Cambridge passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 9, 2017 due to medical complications at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.    

            She was born November 18, 1953 in Cambridge, Minnesota to Wilford and Arala (Olson) Linder.  Gail grew up in Cambridge until she met her best friend and first husband Rory Almy.  They were married on May 8, 1972 and they moved to Roseau, MN and lived there for 15 years.  She and Rory had two daughters Sheila and Sabrina.  Many years later she met and married the love of her life, Kevin Collis on April 10, 1999.

            Gail worked various jobs throughout her life until she was too sick to continue.  She owned her own thrift store in Cambridge.   She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandkids and family.  She always loved the outdoors and had many hobbies, including “Antique Hoarding”. 

            She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gordon Linder, sister Gwendolyn Winkler, daughter Sheila Almy, grandson Michael Michalek, son-in-law Keith Michalek, great granddaughter Serenity Sweeney, husbands Rory Almy and Kevin Collis.

            Gail is survived by her daughter Sabrina Michalek of Mora, grandchildren Brandon Almy (Cobretta Weiss) of Mora, Jasmin (Joel) Skabo of Williston, ND, Russell Rippon (Courtney Miller) of Braham, Trenton Almy-Munich of Fairmont, great grandchildren Andriah Fuhol, Evan Anderson, Wyatt Shepherd, Aubrey Rippon and Jarah Skabo, sisters Geneva (Don) Fix of Stanchfield, Grace Soltys of Isanti, brother Gabriel (Bonnie) Linder of Dalbo, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.  Gail will be deeply missed, she had a great sense of humor and had a heart of gold.

            Gail's family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Senior Living and Abbott Northwestern Hospital for their loving care of our sister.

            A Visitation will be held from 4-7PM, Wednesday, September 13, 2017 with a service at 5:30PM at the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home in Cambridge.  Interment will be in the Cambridge Union Cemetery.
