Obituary of Loren H Nelson

Loren H. Nelson age 74 of Cambridge, MN., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 14, 2017.

Loren was born on May 26, 1943 to Howard & Gwendolyn Nelson. He was a graduate of Cambridge High School, Class of 1961. After graduation, Loren enlisted in the Army where he loved serving his country. Loren married Charlotte (nee Sylvester) in 1973 for 23 years and they had their two beautiful girls. He acquired his real estate license and enjoyed selling properties over the years. Loren worked as a truck driver for many companies but then started working for Ercoa Industries of Braham, where he retired from hauling pontoon boats from coast to coast.

Loren loved to hunt deer and pheasants. Loren was an avid collector of “odds and ends”, especially cars, trucks and tractors which he loved to “turn a wrench on” with friends and family. Loren also loved working in the woods with his family cutting wood and stopping for a refreshment once and awhile.

Loren was a devoted grandfather to his three grandchildren. He did everything with them from playing Legos, teaching them card games, reading books, helping them with homework, playing Dr. and patient and sneaking the kids and himself a root beer float during the day while watching T.V.

He was preceded in death by his parents Howard & Gwendolyn Nelson. Loren is survived by his daughters Kristi (Jeremy) Hass and Kati Nelson and her boyfriend Nic Anderson; grandchildren Emily and Landon Hass and Kasha Becker; brother John (Sharon) Nelson and nephews Todd (D’ette) Nelson and Brad Nelson.
