Obituary of Loretta Ann Hanson

Loretta A. Hanson (nee Anderson) of Cambridge, died on October 12th, 2017 at Rosewood Senior Living at the age of 80 surrounded by her family.

Loretta “Tootsie” was born in Bodum, MN to Ephraim and Alice Anderson on May 23rd, 1937. She attended country school at Pine Lake and went on to graduate from Cambridge High School in 1956.

On October 4th, 1958, she was united in marriage to Lyle H. Hanson. Lyle and Loretta made Cambridge their lifelong home where they raised their 5 children. Loretta enjoyed gardening, sewing, watching old movies and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Pamela Costello, Greg Hanson (Tammy Szczech), Brian Hanson, Michelle Stassen (Dave Fowler), Chris Hanson (Lindsey Gustafson); her sister Virginia Semelis (Imants); 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Loretta is preceded in death by her husband Lyle, sisters Eldora Nelson and Laural Berg, brother Douglas E. Anderson and her parents Ephraim and Alice Anderson.

The family of Loretta A. Hanson wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Bluestone Physicians Group, Rosewood Senior Living and St. Croix Hospice for the care provided to our mother during her time with them. 

Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday October 19th, 2017 at Cambridge Lutheran Church 621 Old North Main St. Cambridge MN.  Family and Friends may gather 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Cambridge Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
