William Lund

Obituary of William Edward Lund

William E. “Willy” Lund was born to Robert W. and Jennie M. Lund on July 16, 1932 in Duluth, Minnesota.  Bill worked for 3 years on the Richard J. Reiss, sailing the Great Lakes before moving to the Twin Cities area.  He was an avid collector of vintage cars, trucks, and outboard boat motors and John Deere tractors.  His passion was going to local and regional auctions; looking for a “good deal”.  He spent most of his adult life working as a welder at Hoffman Engineering until his retirement.  Bill passed into the hands of the Lord on October 25, 2017, at the age of 85.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert.  Bill is survived by four cousins: Bertha Brisk, Charles Martell, Lois Martell and Raymond Mrattila.  He is also survived by his long-time friends in Duluth, many friends at Hoffman Engineering, everyone involved with the Nowthen Threshing show and the congregation of Nowthen Alliance Church.
