Obituary of Mary Olson

Mary I. Olson, 90, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at the Grandview Christian Home. Mary Ione (Doland) Olson was born March 21, 1917 in Pillager, Minnesota the sixth of eight children to James Elmer and Mary Martha (Rogers) Doland. She attended and graduated from Pillager High School, being the only one of her siblings to obtain a high school education. On August 11, 1937 she married Edward Cecil Olson of Springvale, MN. There they raised their family of six daughters and one son. At the early age of six or seven Mary accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a church Christmas program. During her long life of 90 years she told many people of her love for the Lord, and of His love for them. She spent her life serving Him, her family, church and community. She was a longtime member of the Springvale Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 45 years She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two sisters, husband Edward, daughter Eunice, and two grandchildren with whom she is today rejoicing in the presence of the Savior whom she loved and served these many years. Hallelujah! Mary is survived by five daughters Edna Ostrom of Cambridge, Beverly Sundquist of Cave Junction, OR, Shirley Thompson of Cambridge, Helen (Harley) Carter of Spokane, WA, Lynda (Larry) Caughey of Gainesville, FL, one son James Olson of Springvale, 21 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Aurora Denis of Cambridge and Esther Olson of Stanchfield, and many other relatives and friends.
