Obituary of Sandra E. Schmitz

Sandra Elaine Schmitz, 66, of Braham and Brainerd passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at The Estates of Rush City.

            She was born on May 21, 1951 in Madison, MN to Carl and Evelyn (White) Ohm.  Sandra grew up in Wadena where she attended grade school and graduated from Wadena High School in 1969.  After high school she worked a time in Wadena before moving to Minneapolis.

            In July 1972 she was united in marriage to Mike Roth and to this union two daughters were born, Heidi and Heather.  They would later separate after ten years.         

            She worked several years for Control Data until 1994.  Over the years she also worked at various other jobs. Sandra spent several years in Minneapolis and the past six years she resided in Brainerd and worked at Atek.  Most recently she lived the past few months in Braham and Rush City.

            She enjoyed crafting, gardening and baking, watching the MN Vikings and spending time with her family.

            Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and brother Carl “Jim” Ohm.  She is survived by her daughters Heidi and husband Eric Brown of Stanchfield, Heather Roth of Apple Valley, two grandchildren Cody Roth and Luis Garcia, brothers Jerry and wife Shirley Ohm of Iowa, Ron and wife June Ohm of South Dakota, Russ and wife Sue Ohm of Ottertail, Dan and wife Paulette Ohm of Bluffton, MN, sister Laurie and husband Dennis Geiser of Wadena, half-sister Carol Reynolds Harrington, Cedar Rapids IA, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1PM, Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Wright officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wadena at a later date.
