Obituary of Darlene A. Blomquist

Darlene Augusta Blomquist, 85, of Cambridge, formerly of Piedmont, SD passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West.

            She was born on June 9, 1932 in Rolling Green Township, Minnesota to Elmer and Augusta (Kleine) Graham.

            On March 4, 1950 Darlene was united in marriage to Dallas Blomquist and to this union two sons were born, Dallas Jr. and Barry.  They made their home in Grandy, MN for several years before moving to Cambridge living in the Edgewood area.  While in Cambridge, Darlene worked at Control Data for several years.  After retiring they moved to Piedmont, SD in 1981 and spent their retirement years there.  Dallas passed away in October 2015 and Darlene returned to Stanchfield and lived with her granddaughter Shannon Blomquist who cared for her. 

            Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Dallas Blomquist Sr., sons Dallas Blomquist Jr, and Barry Blomquist, grandson Chris "Kip" Blomquist, sister Yvonne Barnes, and brothers Roger and  Denny Graham.

            She is survived by her daughter-in-law Nancy (Jim) Graham of Cambridge, grandchildren Tracy (Brandon) Bistodeau of Braham, Tristan (Brianna) Green of Isanti, Shannon Blomquist (Jason) of Stanchfield, great grandchildren Breana Blomquist, Nikisha Brown, Mitchell (Sam) Blomquist, Jordan Blomquist, Dalton Wickeham, Madison Blomquist, great great grandchildren Caiah and Jaxon, brother Jerry Graham of Wisconsin, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6PM, Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Springvale Baptist Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD in the spring.
