Obituary of Beverly J. Burman

Beverly Joan Burman, 80, of Cambridge, MN died Monday, March 12, 2018 at her home surrounded by family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on April 4, 1937 to LeRoy and Lillie Dahl in New Ulm, Minnesota, during a snow storm.  Beverly was a member of the South (Minneapolis) High School graduating Class of 1955.  Following graduation, Beverly held a variety of jobs before she met and married the love of her life, James (Jim) Burman, on July 13, 1957 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  However, her favorite job was as a dog trainer, for which she won many awards including international competitions. 

Beverly was an extremely talented individual in a variety of arts and crafts.  Her expertise was reflected in her beautiful stained glass artwork, cross stitch designs, craft art entrepreneur, etc.  She had a passion for collecting miniature poodles, Dept. 56 items, along with other specialties.

Beverly, at the age of 15, professed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized and received into the membership of the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Minneapolis.  She continued to share her love of Jesus through her Sunday School teachings at Bethlehem Baptist, encouraging the youngsters to join her in singing her favorite song “Jesus Loves Me.” During their 60+ years of marriage, Beverly and Jim were also members of Minnetonka Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Cambridge.

She is survived by her husband, Jim, of Cambridge; her siblings Leland (Ruth) Dahl of Erhard, MN, James (Cindy) Dahl of Longville, MN and Iann (Mike) Carlson of Minneapolis, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.   Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Sandra. 

Pastor Donna Reiter will officiate the service held at 11 AM, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Cambridge.  Visitation one hour prior to the service.  Honorary Pallbearers are nephews Greg Linde, Reid Johnson, Jeff Linde, Kevin Johnson, Nathan Carlson, John Dahl, Steven Dahl and Thomas Dahl.  Interment was in the Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.

Memorials will be directed toward Christian youth-related activities.
