Obituary of Dennis L. Bengtson
Dennis Leroy Bengtson, age 68, of Isanti, passed away suddenly on May 3, 2018 at his home.
Dennis was born on September 16, 1949 in Graceville, Minnesota to Paul and Delores (Wenskaug) Bengtson. He went to school in Marietta, Minnesota and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged and was awarded the National Defense Service medal, the Good Conduct medal and was an M-14 Sharpshooter.
Dennis married Patricia Usher on September 27, 1975 and they had three children. He worked as a warehouse foreman at River Services, Inc. for 40 years, belonging to the Operating Engineers Local #49. He loved tinkering in the garage and taking care of his lawn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Bengtson and brother-in-law Arnold Wieber.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 42 years Patricia; children Becky Bengtson of Isanti, Bobby and husband Chad Bunes of Isanti and John and wife Tracy Bengtson of Andover; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother Delores Bengtson of Clinton, MN; siblings Sharon Wieber of Milbank, SD, Bonnie (Wade) Swezey of Ortonville, Warren (Janice) Bengtson of Coon Rapids, Cindy (Rod) Bublitz of Watertown, SD, Paul (Diane) Bengtson of Washburn, ND and Tami (Jeff) Deering of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service 11 AM, Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti with Military Honors provided by the Isanti VFW Honor Guard. Visitation 5-8PM Monday, May 7, 2018 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
