Shirley was a kind and warm presence in my life during the years I lived and worked for The Furniture Studio in Cambridge. She had a generous, empathic heart and was always welcoming to my mother and father and my extended family. I will never forget she and George offering their Spectacle Lake home to me while I waited for my apartment to become vacant. Shirley and I shared a guilty pleasure! We both loved Hostess HoHo’s. When I started my business in Chicago, she always inquired about how it was going. She said she and George knew the ins and outs of being business owners intimately. It was a great gift to have known Shirley and I offer my genuine condolences to her family as they say goodbye.
