Holidays were always a special time in our family and my brother & I looked forward to them, especially Christmas at our Grandparents home where we would be able to play and visit with our cousins, Aunt Maurine's family. Those are special memories that cannot be taken away. Our Grandma would prepare a feast each and every time until she no longer could. We joke to this day that traditions can be broken when we went to Aunt Maurine's for Thanksgiving one year. My Dad loved these special meals and his mouth watering for turkey and the trimmings, as both my Mom and Maurine, were very good cooks. We got to Maurine's home and she immediately asked Marlin to go pick up dinner and very cheerfully announced that we would be enjoying Pizza for dinner. Being a "meat & potato" farmer, my Dad just wilted. Love those memories! May God be with you all during this time.
