Obituary of Melba Della Danielson
Melba Della Danielson, 84, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River.
She was born on August 21, 1934 in Minneapolis, MN to Carl and Melvina (Drew) Larson. The family lived a short time in Minneapolis before moving to McGrath. Melba attended school in McGrath and graduated from McGrath High School in 1952. After high school she moved to Minneapolis and began working for Western Union.
On October 29, 1955 she was united in marriage to Donald Danielson at Zion Lutheran Church in McGrath. They made their home in Minneapolis where their two daughters Julie and Gay were born. In 1965 the family moved to Brooklyn Park and the girls grew up there. In 1994 Don and Melba moved to their home west of Cambridge. He passed away on June 27, 2017 and Melba had been a resident at Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River for the last three years.
Melba worked in downtown Minneapolis for many years at Norwest Bank which later became Wells Fargo, from which she retired at age 60.
She was a member of Cambridge Lutheran Church, was involved with the Community Garden Club. Melba enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, spending time in her flower garden, camping with the family and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, brother Jimmy Larson and sister Leona Cameron.
Melba is survived by her daughters Julie and husband Donald Schlueter of Maple Grove, Gay and husband Jim Morris of St. Michael, three grandchildren Lindsey Morris, Andy (Lora) Schlueter, Alex Schlueter, three great grandchildren Joshua, Martin and Caroline Schlueter, sisters Karen (Ken) Gregornik of St. Michael, Nancy (David) Hengel of Brooklyn Park, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service 11AM, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Cambridge Lutheran Church. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Cambridge Lutheran Church or Donor's choice.
