Obituary of Verian Adair Anderson

Verian Adair Anderson, of Cambridge, Minnesota passed away on October 31st, 2018 at the age of 86.

            Verian was born in Cambridge to George and Alice Hanson on November 22, 1931. She married Johnny Anderson on September 18, 1954 at Cambridge Lutheran Church where she was a life-long member and an active member of the Ladies Circle and Bible Study. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1949. During her school years, Verian caught Johnny’s eye at the local movie theater where she was the popcorn girl! After marrying Johnny, they moved to Virginia for a couple of years while he was on active duty with the U.S. Army. Following active duty, they relocated first to South Minneapolis and then to Cambridge to plant their roots and start a family. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as a phone operator for a few years until their first bundle of joy was on the way.

            For many years, Verian was a stay-at-home mom and loving wife. As her children grew, she had more free time and started working at Impact Mailing in north Minneapolis with some of her close friends, before retiring in 2002.

            During her lifetime, she enjoyed bowling, playing softball, card games, doing puzzles and she was an avid domino player. She was also an animal lover, with a big soft spot in her heart for cats.

            She was preceded in death by her parents George and Alice Hanson, and close cousin Tillie Olson. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Johnny; children Jayne (Donald) Schultz, Jerry (Cathleen) Anderson, David (Ida) Anderson and Nancy Anderson; 10 grandchildren: Jessie, Kelly, Katrina, Kayla, Matthew, Andrew, Megan, Mikaela, Kristine and Noah 4 great grandchildren: Dylan, Pieter, Koraline and Brylee and many other beloved relatives and friends.

            Verian was a very generous and loving person and will be missed by all who knew her.

            Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Cambridge Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:00 am Saturday at the church.
