Obituary of Alice Jean Fiebing

Alice Jean Fiebing, 87, of North Branch, formerly of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Ecumen in North Branch.

            She was born on February 22, 1931 in Stanford Township, Minnesota to James and Anna (Hartfiel) Peters.  She grew up in the Crown area and was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Crown.

            On June 4, 1949 she was united in marriage to Adolph Fiebing Sr. at Zion Lutheran Church in Crown.  They farmed in the surrounding area for many years and raised their seven children.    They would eventually settle in Cambridge.  Alice worked for a time at Fingerhut and later at the Cambridge State Hospital, from which she retired after over 20 years in 1993.

            Alice was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church, and more recently Joy Lutheran Church in Cambridge and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stacy.  She was active in the Red Hatters and enjoyed her bible study groups.  She enjoyed snowmobiling, horseback riding, canoeing, traveling, fishing, hunting, camping and cooking.  Alice loved to knit, sew, and do crafting, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Adolph Sr., sons Paul and Adolph Jr., grandchildren Mary Ellen Fiebing and Richard Glines, sisters Patty Phillips and Bernice Babb, and brother Bruce Peters.  Alice is survived by her son Lester Fiebing of Finlayson, daughters Dorothy (Stewart) Nihart of Grand Rapids, MN, Elaine (Dan) Chaffins of Buffalo, MN, Donna (Lonnie Sr.) Glines of Harrison, MI, Joyce (Steve) Fiebing of North Branch, 23 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, sister Carol Sabin of Cambridge, special friend Mary Fiebing of Cambridge as well as many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM, Monday, December 10, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stacy with Rev. Ben Hollingsead officiating.  Visitation will be 4-8PM, Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in King Cemetery in Spencer Brook.
