Obituary of Richard Lowell Bourke

Richard Lowell Bourke, age 64, of Cambridge died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 in Mora.

            Rick was born on April 13, 1954 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Charles and Joan (Koeller) Bourke.  He grew up living on the Bourke family farm just outside of Cambridge with his sister and brothers.  As a boy, he attended church at Salem Lutheran Church in Dalbo where confirmation “affirmation of baptism” took place.  Rick attended Cambridge High School.

            In 1972 he married Lori Jarson at Salem Lutheran Church in Dalbo.  They lived in Minnesota while married.  In the same year, he was blessed with his first child, a daughter (Jessica), then with a son (Jason) in 1975.  He did move to Arizona for a period but would return to Minnesota after a few years.        

Rick thoroughly had a passion for auto body repair.  He worked in that field most of his life through his own small shop specializing in auto body restoration.  He can be described as an “easy-going”, laid-back type of guy that enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, working on cars, and helping friends/family with fixing their vehicles.  He loved spending time with his family especially goofing off with the kiddos!

           Rick was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Joan, brother Thomas, and brother Curtis passing shortly after Rick passed.                 He is survived by his daughter Jessica Bourke of Cambridge; son Jason (Amanda) Bourke & grandson Reece of Isanti; sister Debi (Duggan) Kelly of Carver; sister-in-law Pat Bourke of Ogilvie; former wife Lori Johnson (Jarson) of Cambridge; several nieces, great nieces and great nephews; as well as many other relatives, cousins, and friends.
