I knew Mike from about 47 years ago. I remember a couple conversations we had back then. He was living in a farmhouse along Hemingway Creek in southeast Minnesota. He was the kind of a guy I always hoped to run into again.

I met Mike in 79 when we worked at the DNR in Cambridge, his ability to fix things was second to none, we had a lot of good times together fighting fires, fixing things in the shop , riding motorcycles, even a few parties , he was a dear friend and like a big brother to me , I will truly miss his kind ,caring, generous soul . R.I.P Brother
I worked with Mike at the Forestry office in Cambridge. When I first came to Cambridge I roomed wit Mike and Mark Demuth on Spec Lake. We had a lot of adventures while working on fires during spring and fall fire seasons. Mike new how to carry on a discussion but was almost always in good spirits. Mike bought my wifes sues guitar and mine for a price I thought was more than they were worth. He seemed to be generous that way. Mike had a wild game feed at his place and I think everyone showed up. In those days everyone seemed to get along. Fond memories of those times.
