Obituary of Virginia Phyllis Schleicher

Virginia Phyllis Schleicher passed away on Thursday, April 4th at the age of 95.

She was born on November 13, 1923 to John and Myrtle Peterson in Maple Ridge Township.  She graduated from Braham High School and attended Hiawatha and Day schools in the early grades.  Throughout her childhood her family farmed near Day.

In 1941 she moved to Cambridge and began her employment at the Isanti County Cooperative Association, where she worked until retiring in 1989.  She did take a few years off to raise five children.   After retirement she volunteered part- time at Legal Aid for 20 years.

On November 4, 1944 Virginia married George Schleicher and made Cambridge their home.

Virginia enjoyed motorcycling, bowling, camping and going out to eat.  In later life, she enjoyed crosswords and reading.  She also enjoyed family activities and spending time with friends.

She is survived by her children Judy (Mike) Mott of Onamia, Joris (Patty) Schleicher of Cambridge, Jerry (Janice) Schleicher of Cambridge, Jane Craig of Maple Grove; grandchildren Gus (Jane) Liepetz, Karl (Britt) Liepitz, Jennifer (Joe) Harris, Joel (Joan) Schleicher, Danett (Jay) Manders, Nathan, Jacob, and Jordan Schleicher, Jared (Pakou Vang) Craig and Garin Craig; great-grandchildren Emma, Grace and Tevyn Liepitz, Dylan, Marlin, Corbin and Aaron Schleicher, Kathryn (Ashton Erickson) Manders, Kaylie (Lucas) Anderson, Cody Manders, Adessa and Leo Craig; great-great-grandchild Finley Erickson, sisters Betty Lutterman of Cambridge, JoAnne Reese of Arizona, Delyte Robertson of AZ, Ione Maxwell of St. Paul, brothers Duane Peterson of Grasston, Myron Peterson of Minneapolis, Frank Peterson of Kenyon, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband George, daughter Julie, parents, brothers Merlin and Dale and her sister Janet.

Memorials Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Saturday April 13 at Christ the King Catholic Church 230 N. Fern St. Cambridge

Visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at Church on Saturday.

Interment Christ the King Caholic Cemetery, Cambridge
