Obituary of Delton George Stoeckel

Delton G. Stoeckel age 85 of Crown, MN passed away peacefully on April 5, 2019 at the Edgewood Senior Living in Blaine.

He was born on August 30, 1933 to William and Elma Stoeckel.  Delton attended Crown Christian Day School through the 8^th grade and then went onto St. Francis High School, graduating in 1951.  After graduation, he worked on his parent’s farm and later became a USPS Rural Carrier; working for 25 years.

Delton loved to travel with his sisters.  He visited all 48 contiguous states and Europe.  They made special trips to states noted for their fruits. For example Georgia for it’s peaches.  Delton and his sisters made numerous trips to visit relatives and many friends to celebrate their birthdays.  Also he never missed a good auction.

Delton enjoyed making time for his church.  He was a life-long choir member and talented soloist who sang at many weddings and funerals.  But above all, Delton was a fun-loving, warm and caring Uncle, Great-uncle and God- Father to his large extended family. His kind-heartedness was shown to his dogs and cats.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Walter, Earle, Donald; sisters Beatrice, Marley and infant twins Darlene and Kathleen; niece Sandra Vatassery and infant nephew Lloyd Stoeckel.

Delton is survived by his nephews Jerry (Pixie) Stoeckel, Dick Stoeckel, Eugene (Kathleen) Stoeckel; nieces Oriet Diamond and Rose Uhden and many great-nieces and great-nephews and extended family and friends.

Memorial service 11 AM Wednesday April 10, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church of Crown  MN.

Friends may gather to express their condolences 1 hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday.
