Obituary of Patricia Laverne Tewalt

     

Patricia Laverne "Pat" Tewalt, 74, of Isanti passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at her home surrounded by family.

            She was born January 1, 1945 in Spooner, WI to Vern and Evelyn (Jacobson) Nichols.  Pat grew up in Spooner, was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church, and graduated from Spooner High School in 1963.  After graduating, she worked at National Life Insurance in Downtown, Minneapolis for several years. In more recent years she was the Director of Heavenly Sunshine Nursery School at Faith Lutheran Church and was a teller at MinnCo Credit Union in Isanti.

            On July 5, 1968 she was united in marriage to Ronald Tewalt in Taylors Falls, Minnesota.  They made their home in South Minneapolis before moving to Columbia Heights.  While in Columbia Heights, their two children Stacy and Will were born.  In 1978 they built a home in rural Isanti and lived there since.  Ron passed away on August 7, 2008.

            Pat enjoyed the outdoors, spending time in her flower gardens, crafting, she was a vintner of wines, and loved spending time with family and friends.  She was a longtime member of Long Lake Lutheran Church where she was active in the church choir.  Pat was also a proud member of the NRA., she had her conceal and carry permit.  In March 2018 she went on an African Safari with her son Will, his wife Kim, and family friend Tracy.  Pat shot three trophy mounts while there.

            She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Ron.  Pat is survived by her daughter Stacy and husband Tim Storm of Isanti, son Will and wife Kim Tewalt of Zimmerman, three grandchildren Breanna (Andrew) Blackman of San Antonio, TX, Emily Storm (Shane Barnes) of St. Cloud, Zachary Storm of Isanti, four step grandchildren Hollie Bursch, Russell (Summer) Bursch, Katelyn Bursch, and Maddie Bursch, two step great grandchildren Parker and Evelyn Bursch, sisters Penny Pokorny of Bemidji, Jonie Meyers of Bemidji, brothers Rob (Maryann) Nichols of Hot Springs, SD, and Larry Nichols of Fairbanks, AK, mother-in-law Marion Tewalt of Boise, ID, as well and many other relatives and friends.

            Funeral Services will be held at 11AM, Monday, May 6, 2019 at Long Lake Lutheran Church with Pastor Sue Olson officiating.  Visitation will be from 3-6 PM, Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.
