Obituary of Shirley H. Heineman

Shirley H. Heineman, of Cambridge, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in her home at the age of 76.

            She was born to Elmer and Myrtle (Schlueter) Edquist on November 19, 1942 in Phoenix, AZ, and moved to Aitkin, MN before beginning elementary school. She was the second of four children. She attended and graduated from Aitkin High School and was married to late Leonard Heineman on February 18, 1961 in Crosby, MN.

            After marrying Leonard, Shirley became a dedicated caregiver and shared her talents with others by working as a waitress and babysitting. Shirley and Leonard welcomed two children, Randy and Michele, whom they were greatly proud of. She graciously cared for her loving family by maintaining a beautiful home and garden, preparing meals, sharing her love of the Lord and being a source of unconditional love.  She took pride in her ability to provide for her family, work incessantly on her yard and home, and adore her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her daily walks and vacationing with her family. Shirley was joyful, caring, kind, humble, beautiful, and she truly knew how to enjoy life and lift those in her presence. She was strong in her faith and persevered through all of life’s trials.

            Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Leonard Heineman, an infant son, and her parents, Elmer and Myrtle Edquist.

            Shirley is survived by her children, Randy (Brenda) Heineman, Michele (Thomas) Schoenecker; her grandchildren, Jay (Cheryl) Heineman, Justin Heineman, Anthony (Margitta Rogers) Schoenecker, Eric (Faith) Schoenecker, Bria (Kyle) Schoenecker and Emma Schoenecker; and her 7 great-grandchildren, Ryan Helland, Gavin and Wyatt Heineman, Archer, Zoe, Maxwell and Iris Schoenecker.; her siblings, Bob Edquist, Ardell (Jon) Schmidt, Rod (Joanie) Edquist;

            Memorial Service 2PM, Monday, July 1, 2019 at Cambridge Lutheran Church.  Visitation begins at 12:30 at the church.   Interment will be in the church cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony, Eric, Bria, Emma Schoenecker, Jay and Justin Heineman.
