Obituary of Janet Marilyn Widell

Janet M. Widell, 82, passed away peacefully the morning of July 16^th, 2019 in Cambridge, MN.  She was born in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from Edison High School in 1955.  She was blessed with her children: Barry (Christine), Russell (Sherrie), Andrea (Dennis) Jaloszynski, Duaine, and Joe (Jen) that she raised as a homemaker in Cambridge, MN.  She was also blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nephews. 

She is also survived by her sisters Barbara Shellum and JoAnne Smith and brother Gregg Smith. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Helen & Joseph Smith.

During her early life, she enjoyed roller skating and riding her bike.  As she continued in life, she worked in various settings; nursing home, cable office, radio station, cleaning and had been a volunteer driver for the county as well.  In her free- time she enjoyed listening to MN Twins Baseball on the radio, sewing, reading, KFC Chicken and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She had a love for ornaments, but praying hands and owls were her favorite.  She had quite the sarcastic personality, as “charming” became her favorite word to describe things that weren’t particularly conventional.  She also had a quiet love for God and an enduring, caring and loving nature that was unforgettable.  Her bona fide charm that coincided with her quirky, witty and sarcastic personality will be missed by many.

Memorial service Tuesday July 30, 2019 at GracePointe Crossings 1545 Riverhills Parkway, Cambridge MN at 5 PM.
