Obituary of Hermoine "Hermy" D. Schipper
Hermoine Delores "Hermy" Schipper, 88, of Milaca, formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital due to heart failure.
Hermoine was born on December 6, 1930 to Marius and Helen Honerud in Fargo, N.D. Hermy grew up on her parent’s farm in the Red River Valley in Perley, MN. She graduated from high school at Oak Grove Lutheran School. Hermy moved to Cambridge, MN and worked at Stratte Drug as a book-keeper.
Hermy's favorite hobbies were planting beautiful, colored flowers, feeding the birds, reading 'almost' one book per day, going to Texas for three months during the Minnesota winters, and taking care of their cat, Calli. Hermy's favorite phrase line was "that's how it goes, you know".
Hermy's pride and joy was spending time with her husband, four children, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Hermy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Adeline Sanford.
Hermy is survived by her husband Roger, of 37 years, four children: Cathy (Randy) Wright of Pillager, MN, Larry Hammargren of Centerville, MN, Julie Hardin of Louisville, KY, Jack Hammargren of Cambridge, step children Mary (Jon) Caine of Anoka, Sandra Schipper of Walker, MN , six grandchildren Matthew Bliss, Shelly (Steve) Moss, John (Misty) Scheufeli, Katie Hammargren, Kerrie Hammargren and Lisa (Andy) Asmus, nine great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home in Cambridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Refreshments to follow
