Obituary of Heidi Rae Salo

          Heidi Rae Salo, 68, of Stanchfield passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at home surrounded by family, following a courageous five-year battle with breast cancer.

          She was born on June 2, 1951 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Wilford and Anna (Rask) Holine.  Heidi grew up in Isanti where she was baptized at Elim Baptist Church.  She attended grade school in Isanti and later graduated from Cambridge High School in 1969. 

          Heidi married and had two daughters, Erin and Erica.  She worked at Grandview Christian Home for a time before going to work for the State of Minnesota.  She retired after 32 years of service.

          In 1982, she was united in marriage to David Salo in Cambridge.  They lived in areas near Cambridge and have lived in Stanchfield for the past seven years.

          Heidi enjoyed dancing, fishing and collecting kerosene lanterns and various other knick knacks.  She was the center of all family gatherings and loved planning the get-togethers and family holidays.  Heidi was a wonderful cook, and everyone loved her food.  She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family.

          She was preceded in death by her parents Wilford and Anna Holine, infant sons David & Eric, niece Rhya Hawkinson and nephew Richard Hawkinson. 

          Heidi is survived by her husband David of Stanchfield, daughters Erin  Erickson (Jeff Johnson) of Braham, Erica and husband Steven Wojcik of Stanchfield, step daughters Tasha Cropper of Circle Pines and Char Salo of Princeton; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters Linda (Lee) Hawkinson of Cambridge and Sherry Bergman of Deer River; brothers John (Karen) Holine of Woodbury and Jim (Jean) Holine of Mora, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at  11 am on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Springvale Baptist Church - 410 Cty Rd 6 NW Stanchfield, MN

Friends may gather 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Private interment will be at Isanti Union Cemetery at a later date.
