Obituary of Ray P. Cooper
Ray Pearl Cooper, 92, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
He was born July 24, 1927 in Castor, Louisiana to James and Pearl (Myrick) Cooper.
Ray served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. He was wounded in Korea and received the Purple Heart and was also a Prisoner of War. He was honorably discharged from the Army on January 31, 1954 at the US Army Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas.
Ray is survived by his children Robert (Carla) Cooper of Bridgeman, MI, Kelly (Michael) Whyte of Missouri, Kirby (Catherine) Cooper of North Carolina, Blaine (Nancy) Cooper of Harris, James Edward (Shannon) Cooper of North Dakota, 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brother Ralph (Roberta) Cooper of South Carolina, as well as other relatives and friends.
A Private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove, Iowa.
