I was one of John's nurses at Unity. I spent 36 hours with John a weekend that I worked 12-hr shifts. He was a special patient who talked often about his family. My deepest sympathy to all of you.

I met John when I moved to Cambridge in 1976 to work at the State Hospital. John taught me a lot about being real with the residents as I observed his great, honest relationships with the residents he worked with. He was caring, respectful and a true friend to the residents and staff. Our friendship grew as we discovered our common interest in sports, and I always enjoyed spending time with John talking about our favorite teams. I have always missed him after I left the state hospital to take another job. I considered John one of my best friends at work and want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with John's family, and I consider myself very blessed by knowing John and spending time with him.
