Obituary of Willette Fredeen

Willette Alida Fredeen, 89, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at GracePointe Crossing Gables east. She was born February 6, 1922 in Spring Vale Township, Minnesota to Raymond and Alida (Sodergren) Coleman. Willette grew up in Spring Vale and attended country school District #29. She went on to graduate from Cambridge High School in 1939. After high school she worked four years in the Alvin Berglund Sr home, helping with the children and home duties. On March 25, 1943, she was united in marriage to Uriel Fredeen in Minneapolis. Uriel was in the military at the time of their marriage which brought them to California and Oklahoma. After his discharge from the military in 1944, they made their home in Spring Vale, raising their two children and operating their dairy farm. They lived in Spring Vale until 1972 when they bought a home in Cambridge. Willette worked as a supervisor in the dietary department at the Cambridge Medical Center from 1973 until retiring in 1996. Willette was a long time member of the Spring Vale Baptist Church, and regularly attended First Baptist Church and New Hope Community Church in Cambridge. She enjoyed cooking, spending time outdoors, working with her plants, picking berries and knitting. She liked her new cars, trading every couple of years so she had the latest model. Willette enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Uriel, infant brother Reuben Coleman, sister Connie Kastner, and special friend Gordon Carlson. Willette is survived by her daughter Linda and husband Bruce Mickelson of Cambridge, son Gordon and wife Diane Fredeen of Stanchfield, three grandchildren Benjamin (Nicole) Mickelson of Golden Valley, Elizabeth (Brian) Keillor of Cambridge, Lindsay (Erik) Ebeling of Stanchfield, three great grandchildren Haley and Dylan Ebeling, Henry Keillor, brothers Stewart and wife Allene Coleman of Stanchfield, Burton and wife Joyce Coleman of Stanchfield, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
